Undergraduate Programme
|
| |
Beginning academic year 2011-12, the Faculty of Planning and Public Policy will offer a five year undergraduate programme. On successful completion graduates will be award the Bachelor of Planning (B.Plan) degree, which is recognised by the Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Admission to the academic session 2011-2016 is currently open.
The B.Plan at CEPT has been structured with a mix of knowledge areas to emphasise the inter-disciplinary nature of Planning. Students would gain expertise in using advanced computing techniques that aid planning and rational decision making, while being rooted in sound theoretical fundamentals. The course would mould professionals capable of understanding various problems facing our towns and cities, and would cater to the growing need for such professionals, given the pace or urbanisation in our country. The undergraduate programme would dove tail with the Masters programmes that the faculty offers in various specialisations. Graduates would be able to work in professional planning organisations and with the Government planning departments at the urban and state level.
