  Industrial Area Planning & Management
  Industrial sector has emerged as one of the fastest growing sector in the country, with tremendous opportunities. Gujarat has also shown an enormous progress in industrial sector and has emerged as one of the fastest progressing states,.There has been a significant change in the nature of industry, its types, and scale of development. The Government has introduced various new programs, instruments and projects such as Special Economic Zones (SEZ), Special Investment Regions (SIR), Industrial Parks and Industrial Townships, etc. to facilitate industrial development in the country. Taking into consideration the growing industrial scenario, Govt. of Gujarat felt the need of professionals for planning and managing industrial areas and facilitating sustainable growth of industrial sector. With this vision, CEPT University in collaboration with GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation) is introducing a Master’s programme to impart specialized education and training in the field of industrial area planning and management. The Master’s programme in Industrial Area Planning and Management (IAPM) is a part of Faculty of Planning and Public Policy, CEPT University. Industrial area planning and management professionals from CEPT will play key role in enhancing industrial growth in the state and in the country.
 

  IAPM - Academic Programme
The prime objective of this course is to train students for planning, designing, developing and management of industrial areas. The course will acquaint the students in various technical, theoretical and practical aspects of industrial area planning and management.

The M.Tech programme is 24 month full time course for regular as well as for sponsored candidates. Total intake for the first batch starting in September, 2008 would be 30 including sponsored candidates.
 
  Core Courses
Land Use Planning, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System, Industrial Law, Policies and Regulations, Industrial Infrastructure Planning and Design, Development Appraisal and Infrastructure Finance, Environmental Assessment and Regulations, Port Planning, SEZ & SIR planning & management.
 
  Elective Courses
Advanced Geographic Information Systems, Disaster Management, GIS Project, Participatory Planning and Community Development, Government, Governance and Planning, Environmental Infrastructure Services, Energy Planning and Management, Development Innovation, Logistics, Real Estate Management. The students are free to choose any subjects from other SP planning courses.
