| Environmental Economics: Neo-classical concepts of externalities; welfare economics; costs of pollution; environmental cost-benefit analysis; economics of environmental policies and programs; risks and disasters. |
| Environmental Impact Assessment: Procedural and administrative aspects of EIA; methods of EIA matrices and networks; quantitative methods; techniques of assessment of environmental impacts on air water and land; economics and social impacts; risk assessment and management. |
| Environment Management Systems and Technology: Environment Management systems, cleaner production; commercial and non-commercial fuels and the bio-mass economy; resource depletion; alternative fuels and technologies; energy accounting and auditing; energy policies, norms and standards for clean air and water; measurement of environmental quality. |
| Urban Management: Basic concepts for understanding the planning and implementation processes at institutions concerned with urban management; the principles and practices of public finance. |
